Jonathan Lipton is a public affairs strategist with broad experience in the non-profit and government sectors, where he has focused on communication, diversity initiatives and programming.

 As a Partnership Coordinator with the Global Partnership Initiative at the U.S. Department of State and Office of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, he oversaw the development and implementation of LGBT initiatives, primarily for the Global Equality Fund. He directed public-private partnerships associated with the Global Equality Fund and successfully executed groundbreaking events for its fundraising efforts. In addition to his public service in Secretary Clinton’s office, Jonathan brings a strong background in public affairs including experience at the Jewish Federations of North America, the Office of U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (NY) and Rabinowitz/Dorf Communications. Jonathan’s leadership skills extend to several non-profit organizations, such as National Union of Jewish LGBT Students, where he served as the National Chair, the David Project, Hillel International, United Synagogue Youth, and countless political campaigns. A seasoned advocate, Jonathan’s strong background in programming and strategic engagement highlights his facile fusion of leadership and diversity. His advocacy initiatives and leadership have been highlighted in several publications, including the Washington Jewish Week, ROI Global (a project of the Charles & Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation), CSR Wire, the Huffington Post, NBC and Comcast, and he has been published in USA Today. Jonathan lectures on creating inclusive communities and developing effective engagement strategies and was a participant and awardee of the Bank of America Neighborhood Excellence Initiative.

Coordinated and executed public-private partnerships under directive of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Oversaw development, outreach and engagement for the Global Equality Fund, an initiative of Secretary Clinton aimed at fostering equality, advocacy, protection and dialogue for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people around the world through bridging partnerships with foundations, corporations, civil society and activists. Strategized and executed the Global Equality Gala with the Human Rights Campaign honoring Secretary Clinton and Sir Elton John; organized celebrity appearances including Sharon Stone and Judith Light, and drafted remarks for the Secretary. Drafted remarks, talking points, articles and press releases for Secretary Clinton and Special Representative Kris Balderston, including Secretary Clinton's Pride Video in June 2012 and remarks at the Global Equality Gala. Implemented the first mobile texting donation partnership for the U.S. State Department, with the mGive Foundation, aimed at supporting human rights. Managed all media, communication and messaging for the Global Equality Fund under the directive of Special Representative Kris Balderston.
